City of Investment is managed forex account company that claim to “always identified market opportunities” and “anticipate best returns” for their investors. The company has three types of investment strategies and a minimum deposit level of 1 000 EUR.

In this review, we will discuss their products range, trading strategies and monitor their trading results.

City of Investment Overview

The City of Investment is established in 2009. The company’s headquarters are in London, the UK, but they also have offices in Sidney, Australia and Hong Kong. Additionally, they are supervised and regulated by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA), a good sign of their legitimacy.

The City Of Investment offers a fully managed online Forex investment service. Qualified clients open an account with a broker that have API (automated programming interface). When they’re signed up, the City of Investment’s trading system will automatically place orders with the brokerage.

City of Investment Products Review

City of investment offers three packages – Safe Dynamic x1, Safe Dynamic x2, Safe Dynamic x3. They differ on the level of investment, and they are designed to suit various risk appetites. On the other side, all three strategies have limited investment term between 12 and 36 months.

The City of Investment also charges a 25% performance fee on monthly profits, 3% Join Fee when clients deposit their money and a 0.5% management fee regardless of the investment level. In our opinion, this is a bit too much as it common practice among the managed account companies to charge only one type of fee.

Each strategy has a different Security Stop level, ranging from 15% to 45% and several maximum drawdowns between 13% and 40%.

A helpful feature for potential clients is the Profit Calculator, which can help them better understand the company’s offer.

City of Investment Trading Strategy

We learned from the City of Investment website that their trading strategy – Safe Dynamic, had been developed in 2002, and they have been using it ever since. The strategy trades with GBP/USD, EUR/JPY and GBP/JPY Forex pairs only.

Its style is described as “trend following”, which means that the company’s automated trading system identifies trends with various indicators and signals generated at the start of trend formation with various retracements. When the new trends are identified, the system opens long or short trades.

The strategy has also automated pre-determined stop-loss levels, which are updated hourly using the trailing method.

City of Investment Performance Results

What we learned from the City of Investment website was quite informative. However, when we wanted to compare their claims and promises with the history of their trading strategies’ performance results, our efforts hit a wall.

The links “Trading history” posted on their website lead to the calculation page and doesn’t provide any actual data. We did search FX blue and myfxbook to see if the company has demonstrative accounts open there.

We found only a myfxbook account that has been active only for a few months between July and October 2017. This lack of transparency is indeed a serious set back for any potential client considering starting with the City of Investment.

Conclusion

The City of Investment has well designed and professionally built website. It is informative and answers any questions potential clients could have. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any performance results to illustrate the presented trading strategy has shadowed the good impression their website has left.

We believe that a company that trades forex on your behalf, that claims over a decade of history and working trading strategy for nearly twenty should offer some kind of verification of their results.
